PAMM’s "Beatriz Milhazes: Jardim Botânico"
Beatriz Milhazes, Chora, menino (Cry, Boy), 1996.
The kaleidoscopic works of Beatriz Milhazes will be on display at the Pérez Art Museum Miami, marking the Brazilian abstract artist’s first exhibition in the United States. With more than 40 large-scale paintings, collages, and screen prints—as well as two new paintings made specifically for PAMM’s presentation—“ Beatriz Milhazes: Jardim Botânico” will span 25 years of the artist’s prolific career, including such works as Dancing and Chora, menino (Cry, Boy; shown above). Fittingly, the domestic debut is being made in a city both as tropical and modern as the works being showcased. “Beatriz Milhazes: Jardim Botânico” is on display September 19-January 18 at the Pérez Art Museum Miami, 1103 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, 305-375-3000
