Dwyane Wade
Dwyane Wade recently released a new collection of accessories for The Tie Bar.

With a colorful new collection for The Tie Bar, Dwyane Wade aims to up the accessories of game of every man in Miami this holiday season. The Miami Heat guard's penchant for pops of color and gentlemanly style manifests in 29 silk bow ties, 15 neckties, and 15 pocket squares, as well as a few limited edition tie bars and cufflinks (including silver and gold days of the week cufflinks, our favorite). "If he weren’t so awesome at basketball, I would consider bringing him on board to design full time," says The Tie Bar CEO Anand Sha of Wade's eye for design. What fuels all of that sartorial energy? We chatted with Wade to find out—we also got some intel on the television show based on his life, "Three The Hard Way" (working title), that he recently sold to FOX.

What inspired the color palette and prints for your Tie Bar collection?
DWYANE WADE: I believe that when you design any collection you should give the consumer a piece of you. So for this first collection, I decided to showcase my love of color and patterns and create a line that could be worn in different settings, whether in the office, a night out with the guys, or a formal charity dinner.

Any fashion rules or advice that you live by that informed this collection?
DW: Be yourself, and do not be afraid to make a statement with your choice of clothing and accessories.

This collection is perfect for holiday dressing. What special occasions will you be dressing up for this year, and what items from the collection might you wear?
DW: I plan to wear my collection at a few Christmas parties and some New Year’s Eve events. The holidays are a perfect time to rock a bow tie, so you’ll definitely see me in a few looks, especially my jewel-toned oversized bow ties that will be released this month. They’re perfect when paired with some of my printed cufflinks and pocket squares

Lastly, we just heard the exciting news that you've sold a sitcom based on your life to FOX. Anything you can share on that? Do you plan to have a hand in the wardrobe of the main character?
I’m very excited about that upcoming project. It’s something new for me and since the episodes will be based on my life, style may come through as well—but you’ll have to wait and see. I’ll probably have my trusted style director Calyann Barnett consult on the wardrobe.
