Laure Hériard Dubreuil shares her Art Basel Miami Beach hangouts below.
Ever ahead of the fashion and design curve, The Webster CEO and founder LaureHériardDubreuil is one we always watch for at Art Basel Miami Beach. Originally from Cognac, France, HériardDubreuil studied merchandising at FIT before doing stints at Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent in Paris, so it’s no surprise that the style maven feels right at home during Miami's splashiest annual art event. “I am always impressed how international the city is,” she says. “It is for a week the center of the art and fashion world, or so it seems. It is electric with creativity, quite unparalleled . . . and on the beach!"
Equal parts It girl and hostess, HériardDubreuil won’t only be attending the festivities, she also has a few fêtes up her sleeve: The launch party for the exclusive Eddie Borgo capsule collection on Wednesday, Dec. 4; the debut of the eight-piece Suno capsule collection (in Webster colors, naturally) on Thursday, Dec. 5; and the arrival of Calvin Klein's women’s resort 2014 collection, with limited edition T-shirts by artist Ryan McGinley, at The Webster on Friday, Dec. 6.
Hériard Dubreuil recharges between events with Panther Coffee.
Where else might you spot the French beauty during Basel? Apart from The Webster, HériardDubreuil frequents the Convention Center, Design Miami, and the fairs, as well as Soho House, The Standard, Mr Chow, and Casa Tua, among others. Here, she gives us a few more favorites in her own words.
For a caffeine fix: “Panther Coffee on Purdy Avenue near JugoFresh—the hangout [spot] after Flywheel, if I manage to find the time during the fair.”
For a pit-stop between events: “JugoFresh for fresh juices and La Sandwicherie for a quick lunch."
For a rendezvous: “I love brunch at the News Cafe—it's walking distance from The Webster and it's perfect for meetings—or Local House on 4th and Ocean.”
For a local feel: “The Botanical Gardens and TAP TAP Haitian Restaurant are relaxed and cool.”
For a zen moment post-Basel: She’s looking forward to the opening of Metropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach to “try their daily yoga, pilates classes, and rooftop COMO Shambhala spa.”
